Terms and Conditions of Sale for Oxford Playhouse Events Only

The purchase of a ticket entitles the bearer to access the event named, at the time and date detailed on the OP ticket. Please check your ticket/s carefully on receipt.

Tickets remain the property of Oxford Playhouse. The reselling of a ticket for profit or commercial gain makes it void.

By purchasing tickets through Oxford Playhouse’s Box Office you consent to our Privacy Policy which may be updated and should be reviewed regularly. Your data will be handled in compliance with GDPR. When booking tickets online you must ensure the details you enter are both correct and accurate. You must inform us of any change of address, contact phone number or email address, both before and after receipt of the tickets. Our preferred method to contact you is email, so you should take care to provide a current, valid email address and be aware that your email filter settings may treat our emails as spam or direct them to your junk folder. Discounted ticket/s are offered with proof of entitlement only and are not retrospectively applicable.

Please note that our Terms and Conditions do not apply to purchases for tickets made from third parties. If you have any queries or complaints regarding your purchase of tickets from third parties, please contact them directly.

Babies under 24 months are welcome to family specific performances but require a free lap ticket. In the Burton Taylor Studio lap tickets are available up to 12 months. To book these contact the Box Office directly. If a show is specifically made for children of this age free lap tickets will not be available.

Oxford Playhouse is committed to providing access to all and is happy to make any reasonable adjustment to ensure you enjoy your visit. If you have any specific concerns regarding accessibility and any specific requirements you have, please contact our Box Office prior to your visit. Further details of our accessible arrangements, policies and performances can be found in our Access Section. Guide and Hearing dogs are welcome, other animals are not permitted in the premises.

Strobe lighting, smoke effects and raised sound levels may be used in events and performances, Oxford Playhouse will display signage to this effect clearly at the entrance to the event. If you have any concerns, please contact our Box Office prior to the event.

If you are making a booking on behalf of a group, you are responsible for all payments due from the group and must ensure they are made aware of these terms and conditions. Oxford Playhouse reserves the right to place restrictions on the volume of any tickets ordered.

All tickets and fees are non-refundable. Tickets can be exchanged for another performance of the same production, up to 48 hours ahead of the advertised start time and subject to availability. An admin fee of £2 per ticket applies, up to a maximum of £10 per order. Where the new performance is of a higher cost, the price difference will be charged, but if lower, we regret we will not be able to offer a refund.

For sold out events only, the Box Office may be able to process a credit refund to your Oxford Playhouse account. This will only be possible if we are able to confirm that another customer will take the tickets first. If you are unable to use your ticket/s please let us know. We do not make any guarantee that we will be able to arrange this - If successful all refunds will be to credit only.

COVID: If you cannot attend a live event because you or a member of your household is showing the symptoms of COVID-19, you are entitled to a credit refund to your Oxford Playhouse account, you must contact the Box Office at least 6 hours before the advertised start time of the performance. We cannot offer credits retrospectively.

Oxford Playhouse is happy to offer a full refund or offer to exchange your ticket/s (to the same value) for another event if we cancel or alter in a material way an event, as advertised. In the event of a cancelled performance Oxford Playhouse is not liable for additional travel or accommodation expenses.

Oxford Playhouse will not be liable in any way if an event or performance is abandoned due to any factors which are beyond our reasonable control such as, acts of god: including earthquakes, storms, flooding: power failure or fire: force majeure: including war, terrorist acts, and civil commotion.

Programme events start at the time advertised and we reserve the right to delay or refuse admittance of latecomers if in the opinion of Oxford Playhouse this would affect the enjoyment of the audience or the performance of the artists. Oxford Playhouse reserves the right to refuse admission to any customer or to request any ticket holder to leave if in the opinion of Oxford Playhouse admission may cause a risk to the safety of audience, staff or performers. Or if admission may negatively affect the performance or our audience’s experience of it in any from. The terms of our licence agreement require us to refuse admittance to any person in a state of intoxication or whose conduct is deemed to cause any breach of the peace.

Unauthorised recording, photography and copying of any artistic performance, work or film within Oxford Playhouse is not permitted. Application can be made for specific, limited, personal, educational or press purposes by contacting the Marketing Department on 01865 305388. On rare occasions the show or event may be filmed or recorded. Buying a ticket affirms your consent to the filming and sound recording of yourself as a member of the audience. If you have any objection, should this happen when you attend a show or event, please contact a member of the Theatre or Venue Management.

For the enjoyment of all visitors, Oxford Playhouse requests mobile phones are turned off during a performance and ask that you refrain from talking through a performance.

Smoking is not permitted during any event or within Oxford Playhouse.

Drinks may be taken into the auditorium in plastic containers. Glass containers, bottles and breakable items that might cause a hazard in an emergency are not permitted in the auditorium. Only food purchased at Oxford Playhouse is allowed to be consumed on the premises, no hot food is allowed to be brought on-site.

Oxford Playhouse accepts no responsibility for personal property of customers. You remain responsible for any loss, theft or damage to your belongings. Oxford Playhouse is committed to providing quality service, facilities and programme. The Promoter reserves the right to:

Refuse admission to, or request any ticket holder to leave in reasonable circumstances.

Delay or refuse the admittance of latecomers.

Make any alterations to the advertised programme as necessary as a result of unforeseen circumstances.

Tickets Oxford can only offer refunds and exchange as instructed by individual promoters - please refer any queries to the individual promoter.
