In the final years of World War I, Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen met at Craiglockhart Hospital for Nervous Disorders, where one of Britain’s most important literary friendships was built against the brutal backdrop of the war.  Using personal letter and drafts of now-famous poems, Stephen MacDonald re-creates the tentative flowering, ardent devotion and eventual grief of their relationship as it plays out in 1918.

To mark the centenary of the end of WW1, this is a new production of the play first performed at Edinburgh Festival, Oxford Playhouse and many other venues in the 1980s.
