Please be aware that Botley Road is closed to traffic at the railway bridge between Cripley Road and Frideswide Road until Autumn 2024. Pedestrians can still access this area to reach connecting bus services opposite Osney Island and to walk through to Frideswide Square to catch other services (or vice versa).

Getting Here

We're looking forward to welcoming you soon. Oxford can get very busy, so please allow plenty of time for your journey. Traffic restrictions apply in the city centre from 7.30am – 6.30pm.

If you are coming by bike, there are bicycle racks close to the Studio and on Gloucester Green. Please visit Oxford City Council website for more information.

Maps showing city centre access routes are available from the OP's Box Office. If you're late, you will be permitted into the auditorium during an interval, or if there is a suitable break in the performance.

By Bus / Coach
Park & Ride

There are 5 Park & Ride bus services in the centre, all of which run from Oxford centre until around 11pm (note: for Water Eaton the city2 replaces the Park & Ride after 7pm). The Park & Rides are clearly signposted as you enter the city. For further information please visit the Park & Ride website.

Bus and Coach Station

The Burton Taylor Studio is a two-minute walk from the city's main Bus and Coach Station, which is situated in Gloucester Green. The Bus Station hosts two companies with direct services to and from London Victoria as well as services to Heathrow, Gatwick and stations throughout the United Kingdom.

By Train

The Burton Taylor Studio is a ten-minute walk from Oxford Station. Oxford Station is on a direct line from London Paddington (1hr) and Birmingham New Street (1hr 20min) – connecting to stations nationwide.

Oxford Parkway Station connects to Bicester Village (10 mins) or London Marylebone (1hr), with regular Park & Ride buses running to Oxford City Centre (25mins).

Our first floor bar is open 30 minutes before each performance. We offer a great selection of refreshments, confectionary items and our very delicious homemade treats.

Welcoming You to the BT Studio

The Oxford Playhouse team aims to make everyone welcome to the BT Studio, if you have any concerns or particular access issues you would prefer to discuss with us before your visit please talk to the Box Office team on 01865 305305. Auditorium

The BT Studio is just round the corner from Oxford Playhouse. The auditorium is situated on the second floor of the BT Studio, accessed via two flights of stairs.

We have a stair climber for wheelchair users. If you would like to use this facility please book at least 2 days in advance on 01865 305305 or email [email protected]

Parking

There is a number of disabled parking spaces on Beaumont Street itself on both sides of the street. There are some more on St Giles. See the Blue Badge parking map. The nearest car park to the BT Studio is the underground car park in Gloucester Green, however there are no lifts so it's not accessible for disability/pushchairs. There is also a height restrictions in operation so if you are travelling by mini bus, check at www.oxfordcity.co.uk

Storage

If you need to store a pushchair or wheelchair, this can be done in the downstairs foyer. Please ask a member of our front of house staff and they will assist you and ensure you have access to this during the interval and at the end of the performance.

Seating Around the Venue

We have limited seating in the foyer area. This seating includes built-in wooden benches with a back and stools with no back.

Guide and Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome, please advise Box Office on booking of any particular requirements you may wish us to make to accommodate your dog. It is always worth checking with staff before you go in to a performance if there is anything unusual about the play which might affect your dog.
